Freehand Draw / Sign PDF Files Using PDFescape, Free

UPDATE: Red Software is no longer affiliated with PDFescape, but this feature is still available in our RAD PDF technology. Edit your PDF with our online implementation, free of charge!

Red Software is proud to announce the release of a powerful new feature for PDFescape, the free PDF editor!

Now supporting "freehand" drawing, PDFescape enables users to add annotations, signatures, or hand drawn graphics anywhere on a PDF document. Simply click the new "Freehand" tool on PDFescape's "Insert" tab to start. Then click and drag anywhere on the page, adding ink where your mouse moves.

HI I have used PDFEscape and found it very helpful, thanks for making it available. There is one feature I have found that I need and was wondering if it could be added (if it doesn't already exist). Acrobat seems to create forms with the default to not allow users to save entered data with their reader. I have learned that this is a simply checkbox in Acrobat. In one case I was able to get the form creator to turn that one for me. However, I sometimes work with forms where I don't know the creator and since I don't have acrobat I can't do it myself. It would be great if PDFEscape allowed me to make form data saveable.

You are probably already aware of what I am talking about, but here is a link to info at adobe about this feature.

thanks

Hi Dave,

Unfortunately, enabling PDF form saving in Adobe Reader is something only Adobe can do as third parties have no control over their software. We do offer an alternative though, for more information, please see: http://www.pdfescape.com/webmasters/publishing/

Sorry to be thick but I am somewhat confused by your reply. I am wondering if you understood my question. This isn't a server hosted form that then "submits" its data somewhere. I want to be able to email a PDF Form to someone, have then enter data, save it and email it back to me. Then I may edit some data and send it to another person.

I followed the link but I didn't see anything there that addressed this directly. I would happily subscribe but I don't see yet that it can do what I am asking.

Is there a desktop version of PDFescape?

Hi ingbabic,

Sorry, but we do not offer a desktop version of PDFescape at this time.

Hi, is it possible to undo a function? For example, if I write something using the freehand tool, is there a way to undo it without having to use whiteout?

Thanks

Hi Guest,

We don't support an undo tool at this time. But by simply exiting all tools, you can use the pointer to select, move, delete, resize, or change any change made to the PDF file during that session.

Thanks

Just started using PDF Escape but still haven't been able to change color of ink in freehand. Please advise.

Hi Barb,

After adding the freehand object, right click to switch to "Object Selection" mode. Then left click the object and a toolbar will appear at the top allowing you to change the color and width of the freehand line.

I just pushed backspace accidentally and the page reloaded and all my work is gone! Why does backspace make everything disappear?? I cant even step backwards to undo...this is really frustrating. Can you fix this?

September 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterValery

Hi Valery,

This is because the backspace key is a shortcut to your browser's "Back" button. When you press it, it is taking you back one page, without saving the changes you've made.

Sometimes when I press done after editing freehand, all my edits disappear. How can I prevent this? It's very frustrating.
